Daria Salyakina, Ph.D., currently serves as the director of personalized medicine and health outcomes research at the Nicklaus Children’s Research Institute in Miami, Florida. Dr. Salyakina completed her Ph.D. in statistical genetics in 2007 at the Max Planck Institute in Munich, Germany. Her research focuses on population health outcomes and genomic medicine. In her current role at Nicklaus, she leads the operations of multiple diverse research teams, including Genomic Medicine, Victor Center for Jewish Genetic Diseases, 3D Printing and Imaging Innovations, Health Outcomes and Outreach, Biostatistics, and Biobank. She supports the growth of translational research initiatives such as rapid whole genome sequencing of critically ill patients. Dr. Salyakina serves as principal investigator and team leader of a personalized drug screening program for cancer patients at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. She is also responsible for developing a pharmacogenomics program at the hospital.
