Dr. Cavicchia is the Director of Public Health Research at the Florida Department of Health. He supervises several programs including the Florida Cancer Registry, Florida Birth Defects Registry, Environmental Public Health Tracking Program, Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, Youth Surveys, Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System, Biomedical Research Programs (e.g., James and Esther King, Bankhead-Coley), and the department’s IRB. The Public Health Research Section has been tasked with developing a Research Agenda for the department. As part of the OneFlorida Clinical Research Consortium, Dr. Cavicchia will help identify ways in which the department can collaborate with researchers to utilize the data and link with other sources of data.
